This information is recorded and managed on the Road Maintenance Client System (RMCS) a mapping based data management system. The system is primarily used by staff based in local DfI Roads maintenance section offices as well as DfI Roads headquarters. Surface defects are recorded following routine or ad-hoc inspections mostly using hand-held field devices.
