Probes

The field probe has been deployed by NIEA’s Freshwater Monitoring and Assessment team as part of a long term, high frequency water quality monitoring project.  It records Dissolved Oxygen (%Saturation) and temperature (°C) in the Upper Bann River at Portadown. Data is recorded every 30 minutes and loaded onto the public platform approximately every 30 days. Please note: Data is non-validated and should therefore be treated as provisional and may be subject to revisions.  Many factors can affect the reliability of real time data, including environmental changes and sensor malfunction.Disclaimer - All materials and information are provided “AS IS”. Please seek and follow professional advice relating to Lough Neagh and its tributaries. Further details of the DAERA disclaimer can be found here. The probe has an optical DO sensor and a temperature sensor. The logger collects measurements of dissolved oxygen with an accuracy of +/- 5% and temperature to +/- 0.1 degrees C. Temperature range is 0 to 35 degrees C with an accuracy of +/- 0.1 degrees C. Oxygen range is 0 to 150% saturation.Maintenance: Probe maintenance and download occur monthly.Point of Contact: waterinfo@daera-ni.gov.ukPlease Note: Date format in the download is month, day and year.
