Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership statistics 2020-2023

The Northern Ireland Road Safety Partnership (RSP) aims to support the government’s Road Safety Strategy by reducing speeding and injury collisions through targeted enforcement and educational initiatives. The Partnership Board oversees the work of the RSP and includes representatives from the PSNI, Department for Infrastructure, Department of Justice, Policing Board and Courts Service.

The RSP detects motorists speeding or red light running using various types of cameras. The dataset contains information on the number of detections for speeding or red light running by the RSP between 2011 and 2016. The variables include a unique ID, offence date, offence time, camera type, speed limit, speed detected (grouped), outcome, Local Government District (based on where the offence occurred), offender age (grouped), offender gender.
