COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage

The data source for this dataset is the NI Vaccine Management System (VMS). VMS holds vaccination reports for COVID-19 and influenza vaccines which were either administered in NI or to NI residents. This dataset is an aggregated summary of COVID-19 vaccinations recorded in VMS. It is effectively a day-by-day count of living people vaccinated by dose, age band (on the day that the dataset was extracted from VMS) and LGD of residence.

Aggregated summary data from VMS is published daily to the NI COVID-19 Vaccinations Dashboard. This dataset is updated weekly and allows NI vaccination coverage to be included in the GOV.UK Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the UK dashboard.

The data source for this dataset is the NI Vaccine Management System (VMS). Data is transferred from the operational VMS system on a daily basis to the NI Health Analytics Platform (NIHAP). The variables published are:

  • Date: on which coverage measured (each file will cover every day since the beginning of the COVID vaccination campaign) for the current row
  • LGD2014Code: the Local Government District (2014) code to which the row pertains, this can also include Unknown for individuals where their postcode is not matched to an LGD
  • AgeBand10Yr: the age band (based on age on the date that the file was generated) to which the row pertains
  • Dose1: Number of NI residents currently living who were vaccinated with a COVID-19 Dose 1 before or on Date
  • Dose2: Number of NI residents currently living who were vaccinated with a COVID-19 Dose 2 before or on Date in AgeGroup10Yr and resident in LGD2014Code
  • Dose3anyBooster: Number of NI residents currently living who were vaccinated with a COVID-19 Dose 3 or any Booster (Primary course or Autumn/Spring 2022) before or on Date
  • Autumn2022Booster: Number of NI residents currently living who were vaccinated with a COVID-19 Autumn 2022 Booster before or on Date
  • Spring2023Booster: Number of NI residents currently living who were vaccinated with a COVID-19 Spring 2023 Booster before or on Date

Most vaccinations are recorded at the point of administration, some are recorded after the event, and occasional data corrections are made, so daily totals will change throughout the timespan of the dataset.
