Rates paid by District Council and Sector

This data provides amounts of rates paid against ratepayer accounts as at 31st March each year, as recorded on the Land & Property (LPS) rating system and is broken down by District Council and Property Type. Also provided is the number of occupancies (an occupancy represents a liable person, persons, business or organisation at a property at a given time) that made a payment (value greater than £0) within the rating year.

The data will include occupancies that were paid in full and where there is a balance left at the end of the rating year. It should be noted that the numbers and receipts for Non-Domestic occupancies for the years 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 will be affected by Business Rates Holiday reliefs that were applied at that time.

Please note, the totals included in the tables are not adjusted for receipts at year end which have been paid by ratepayers, but not yet allocated to a particular rate account.

This data is provided by Domestic, Non-Domestic and overall totals. Mixed properties (a property that is a mix of Domestic and Non-Domestic) are included within the Non-Domestic totals.

The totals included above are not adjusted for receipts at Year End which have been paid by ratepayers, but not yet allocated to a particular rate account.
