Type of Long-Term Condition by Age by Sex DC3101NI

The Census collected information on the resident population of Northern Ireland on Census Day (27 March 2011). Questionnaires were delivered to every household and communal establishment and residents asked to complete and return with information as correct on Census Day. Special arrangements were made to enumerate special groups such as the Armed Forces. The Census Coverage Survey (an independent doorstep survey) followed between 9 May and 3 June 2011 and was used to adjust the Census counts for under-enumeration.

Lineage	Census data are aggregated within different boundaries essentially by assembling small geographical building bricks to which the data are coded. The most adaptable and unchanging building brick is the Irish Grid co-ordinate reference. Every record on the output database of the 2011 Census has a co-ordinate reference to a one-metre resolution, as well as a postcode and more conventional area codes. These allow the data to be aggregated to a range of geographic units.
