The postcode on the enrollment record, supplied to DEL by the universities/colleges, can be used to determine where students at FE/HE colleges are from, even if they have student accommodation elsewhere.
For example, the DEL statistical publication 'Further Education Activity 2009/10 to 2013/14' has used this same information in order to perform deprivation analysis. The aggregated data could be made available as a dataset.
So the numbers of students enrolled at each college by either the postcode district or SOA could be made available as a dataset. This could also cover numbers of individual students as well as the enrollments (one student can be enrolled in multiple courses), and be provided for past academic years.
