A 2010 report by DRD on Cycle Usage over 10 years (the only version of which I could find here https://bikefast.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/2010-cycle-usage-report-roads-service-1.pdf) refers to 47 automatic cycle counters spread throughout NI.
However, I haven't seen any update on cycle counter statistics since this report (the NI Annual Travel Survey is different in that it collects information on how people travel i.e. proportion of journeys made by cycling).
Have any of the cycle counters been active and collecting information in the intervening period? If so, given the recent increase in cycling as a method of travel in NI, it would be useful to be able to analyse trends in cycling across a number of locations (similar to data and justification of the Traffic Census report)
Detailed data eg hourly averages, peak times, monthly 5-day and weekend daily averages, direction - more detailed is more useful as cycling can be a seasonal activity - and site location details
